Star Trek Starfleet Academy is the franchise’s next live action show

I mean, I'd rather have Star Trek Legacy, personally...

Star Trek Starfleet Academy has been confirmed as Paramount’s next live action Star Trek television series, presumably filling a void about to be left by Star Trek Discovery.

According to Paramount, the series “will introduce us to a young group of cadets who come together to pursue a common dream of hope and optimism.”

“Under the watchful and demanding eyes of their instructors, they will discover what it takes to become Starfleet officers,” Paramount continued, adding that cadets — as young as 16 years old — will also face, “a new enemy that threatens both the Academy and the Federation itself.”

Sounds like a job for a bona fide Starfleet crew, really.

Alex Kurtzman and Noga Landau will act as Starfleet Academy‘s showrunners and executive producers. While the show is rumoured to take place in the far-far future 32nd Century established in Star Trek Discovery as opposed to Picards 25th Century — and bolstered by the statement that “for the first time in over a century, our campus will be re-opened to admit [cadets]” — Starfleet Academy’s place in the timeline has yet to be confirmed.

That said,

Are you excited for Riverdale in space, or would you rather the proposed Star Trek Legacy instead?
