Star Trek Discovery Season 5 airing April 2024

Set phasers to stun and mark those calendars.

Star Trek Discovery Season 5 will air starting April 2024, Paramount today declared at the CCXP convention in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

This means that Season 5 — Discovery‘s final season — will air more than two years after its Season 4 finale. We also know this Season has used that gap to film additional scenes that will better serve the series’ cancellation, as announced back in March of this year.

Today’s news came complete with a new clip and details of cast members new and returning. We can expect, from left to right in the image above, David Ajala (Book), Mary Wiseman (Tilly), Doug Jones (Saru), Sonequa Martin-Green (Captain Burnham), Wilson Cruz (Culber), Anthony Rapp (Stamets), Blu del Barrio (Adria), and Callum Keith Rennie (Captain Rayner) throughout this new season.

The new clip can be found below.

We don’t have set date that Discovery will start back up as yet, but we’ll of course inform you when that becomes the case. Here in Australia, the series airs on Paramount+ (though that wasn’t always the way of things). Past seasons of Discovery are also available through Paramount+ alongside most other Star Trek series.

Notably, Star Trek Prodigy is not available within Paramount+ and has recently found a new home on Netflix (where Discovery itself started). Season 1 of Prodigy will soon be available within Netflix, and new Season 2 episodes will be available sometime within 2024.

Other Star Trek properties in production include Star Trek Strange New Worlds and a new Star Trek Section 31 movie, both of which are beginning to spin back up following recent WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.
