The wait is going to be a killer.
Spider-Man 2 will head to the PS5 in 2023, Sony and developer Insomniac have today confirmed.
Unlike Spider-Man Miles Morales, which was offered on both PS4 and PS5, this sequel will be current-gen only.
“While pushing the capabilities of the console will be very exciting, we’re equally pumped to craft all-new stories for Peter and Miles in this sequel,”Insomniac’s Ryan Schneider wrote on the PlayStation Blog.
“Just as in our previous Spider-Man games, we not only want to tell a great Super Hero story, but also deliver a compelling human story, one full of heart and humor that dives deep into the people behind the mask.”
Insomniac confirmed that Venom will be part of the new game, voiced by none other than the original Candyman: Tony Todd.
Expect Spider-Man 2 on PS5 in 2023. Spider-Man Miles Morales and Spider-Man are both out now on PS4 and PS4.
