Sony uses the same excuse as with The Last Guardian to attempt to regain the Bloodborne trademark

Everybody makes mistakes, right?

Sony has used the same excuse it did with “The Last Guardian” in an attempt to regain the “Bloodborne” trademark.

Each petition to regain five lapsed trademarks, including “Bloodborne”, includes the following reasoning:

“Applicant has firsthand knowledge that the failure to file an SOU or Extension Request by the specific deadline was unintentional, and requests the USPTO to revive the abandoned application.”

All five applications are now at a status reading “Application revived and is awaiting further action” and are expected to be revived today.

Sony’s trademark on “Bloodborne” lapsed just hours before the game’s release.
