Sony Announces Significant PS Plus Changes

Playstation Plus has undergone a serious overhaul.

Whilst subscribers will still be able to receive avatars, themes, discounts and video content Sony have replaced the free minis and PSOne titles with a new feature called Instant Game Collection.

Instant Game Collection is, basically,  a series of 10 full Ps3 titles that will be available for subscribers to download and play free of charge (12 if you have an American/SCEA account). As with the previous model these games will only be playable whilst your subscription is active.

There is a catch though. Once a month three of these titles will change. It’s not certain whether the older titles will still be available for you to play however, based on previous models I’d guess that they will.

What makes this news even better is that Instant Game Collection is available right now and Sony are starting us off with a pretty impressive collection.

Australian/European/Japanese customers can expect to receive

  • Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown
  • Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine
  • Chime super Deluxe
  • Darksiders
  • Renegade Ops
  • Outland
  • Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath HD
  • inFamous 2
  • Motorstorm Apocalypse
  • LittleBigPlanet 2

American subscribers will receive

  • Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown
  • inFamous 2
  • LittleBigPlanet 2
  • Ratchet & Clank : All 4 One
  • Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine
  • Just Cause 2
  • Saints Row 2
  • Lara Croft: Guardian of Light
  • Hard Corps: Uprising
  • Choplifter
  • Zombie Apocalypse
  • Sideway

Not a bad new model Sony. Now if you could just fix up the amount of Online Storage space we get…
