New storage toys...

Seagate today announced new internal and external storage solutions in its gaming-minded FireCuda range, including the FireCuda 530 SSD, the FireCuda Gaming Hard Drive and the FireCuda Gaming Hub.

We’ll get into each entry in the new range below.

FireCuda 530 SSD

“FireCuda 530 offers gamers the latest PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD technology to deliver the fastest and highest performance available in the company’s line of PC gaming storage products,” Seagate said of its new flagship SSD. “Delivering sequential read speeds of up to 7300 MB/s, the FireCuda 530 catalyses PCIe Gen4 power with transfer rates up to two times faster than PCIe Gen3 SSDs and 12 times faster than SATA-based SSDs.”

The SSD will be purchasable in 500GB, 1TB, 2TB and 4TB capacities, with or without a Heatsink that’s been specifically designed by EKWB. Any device in the 530 range also comes with a five-year limited warranty and three-year Rescue Data Recovery Service plan.

Available in early August, pricing for the 530 range is as follows:

The USB-powered Gaming Hard Drive comes in 2TB and 5TB capacities and is “designed with USB 3.2 Gen 1 connection for universal compatibility and quick transfer speeds”. It also offers a three-year Rescue Data Recovery Service and a three-year limited warranty.

FireCuda Gaming Hub

The FireCuda Gaming Hub “features the same customisation options and USB 3.2 Gen 1 connection as the FireCuda Hard Drive, along with dual front-facing USB-C and USB-A ports so gamers can connect and power other gaming peripherals in one place,” Seagate also confirmed.
