Ubisoft at work on new Ghost Recon game: report

In an attempt to distance itself from Breakpoint... and NFTs?

Ubisoft is hard at work on a new Ghost Recon game, a report alleges. It comes at the same time Ubisoft has confirmed it will no longer be producing new content for the latest title in the franchise, Ghost Recon Breakpoint.

According to Kotaku, the next Ghost Recon title is codenamed OVER and was previously mentioned as part of a leak of games planned for NVIDIA GeForce Now (via Eurogamer).

The site continues on to say that sources claim the title has been in development for more than a year and could be released as early as the 2023 fiscal year.

In the wake of news of the end of content for Breakpoint, Ubisoft has also updated the website for the Ubisoft Quartz, its NFT-laden initiative. Quartz’s NFTs are called “Digits” and are only available inside Breakpoint at present.

“You own a piece of the game and have left your mark in its history,” the new message reads.

We’ll have more on the next Ghost Recon game as it’s made available. Ghost Recon Breakpoint is available now on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S & X, PS4, PS5 and Stadia.
