Microsoft likely to acquire Forza Horizon’s Playground Games

Microsoft is likely to acquire Forza Horzion developer Playground Games.

The developer updated its Companies House page — a UK government website that details all registered companies in the country — on May 29 (as spotted by WCCFTech) to list Keith Dolliver as a new Director.

What’s curious about this change is that Dolliver is currently Vice President and Deputy General Counsel at Microsoft. According to his LinkedIn page, Dolliver specialises in mergers and acquisitions — and in the past, he’s been appointed as director of other companies Microsoft has acquired, including Rare, Skype and Lionhead Studios.

Playground is reportedly working on Forza Horizon 4 and a new Fable title, of which both would be exclusive to Windows PC and Xbox One. In short, this acquisition makes sense.

We’ll have more on Microsoft’s potential acquisition of Playground Games as more is known.
