Report: Grand Theft Auto V on current-gen and PC has been delayed to 2015

Grand Theft Auto V for PS4 was announced during Sony’s press conference at E3 with a release date of Spring 2014. Shortly thereafter, Rockstar announced that it would also be released on PC and Xbox One at the same time.

In August, Amazon listed Grand Theft Auto V on current-gen and PC with a 14 November release date. However, since then Gamescom has come and gone and no words has come down from Sony, Rockstar or anybody else regarding a firm release date. Additionally, Rockstar didn’t show the current-gen version at Gamescom.

According to VG24/7, the current-gen build was at Gamescom, but was only being shown behind closed doors to retailers and not journalists. This all leads to the reasonable conclusion that GTAV will not be released in 2014 on current-gen and PC and will, in fact, be released in 2015.

With the holiday period already stacked with high profile releases the likelihood of GTAV being pushed back is quite high. Considering that release dates for all major games in that period have been known for months it also makes a GTAV release highly dubious.

Never say never, but the rumours are swirling that GTAV won’t see the light of day on current-gen and PC until 2015. Judging by Rockstar’s track record, I’d say it’s a safe bet.
