Grand Theft Auto 6 could be delayed to 2026

Reports say development is falling behind...

Grand Theft Auto 6 may be released in 2026 as a report suggests development on the mega title is falling behind schedule.

Kotaku cites anonymous sources who have said development has “fallen behind”, which is also part of the reason why Rockstar has allegedly asked its employees to scrap working from home arrangements and attend offices full time.

News of the change to working from home arrangements made headlines earlier this year, with some at the studio calling the changes “reckless”.

The outlet suggests that Rockstar is nervous about hitting its announced 2025 release date, and is concerned the title will slip into 2026.

At the moment, Rockstar is still aiming for a mid-2025 release for Grand Theft Auto 6, though reportedly has 2026 as a “fallback plan” or “emergency” option.
