Call of Duty 2024 will be Black Ops, set in the Gulf War, say reports

Time will tell if Call of Duty Black Ops Gulf War truly is a thing.

The Call of Duty 2024 release will be a Black Ops title set in the Gulf War, a report from Windows Central claims.

The outlet cites “multiple sources familiar with Activision’s plans” and predicts the sixth iteration of the Black Ops sub-series will be titled Gulf War. Windows Central furthers that the title will “explore a nuanced narrative of the Gulf War, with a critical focus on different participants within the conflict”.

Black Ops ‘6’ will attempt to explore a nuanced narrative of the Gulf War, with a critical focus on different participants within the conflict,” Windows Central continued. “It will dovetail into the end of the Cold War era, and explore some of the consequences therein.”

Additional reports sourced from Twitter allege that the “WMD” map from Black Ops and the “Grind” map from Black Ops 2 will feature within Gulf War. Insider Gaming furthers these claims by stating that “a large majority of classic maps from the Black Ops series are currently in development for Treyarch’s next title, but couldn’t pinpoint accurately which ones will return to the core game on launch, as DLC, or integrated into the next Warzone map.”
