Rock Band 4 DLC ends as Harmonix moves to Fortnite

Yay?

Rock Band 4 DLC will end as developer Harmonix continues its transition into Fortnite, Epic Games has today confirmed.

After more than eight years releasing weekly DLC for the title, Harmonix will shift over to Fortnite and its Fortnite Festival. There, players will access a rotating roster of similar songs. While Rock Band 4 peripherals aren’t currently supported within Fortnite, that will eventually change.

Rock Band 4 will still be supported when it comes to Rivals seasons and online play.

“Working in support of the Rock Band community has been a high point in my professional life,” said product manager Daniel Sussman. “Wading through the thousands of song requests we get, working through what songs to pursue and release, it’s all hard work but also, really satisfying.”

Sussman also promised a find send off for the title, which has over 3,000 songs currently available.

“We deliberated long and hard about how to frame the last blast of Rock Band DLC of this era,” Sussman continued. “The last two weeks will feature some tear-jerkers that sum up our feelings about this moment.”

Rock Band 4 is currently available on Xbox One and PS4.
