Ride 4 offering Achievements/Trophies as pre-order bonuses

Update: The pre-order Achievements/Trophies in question appear to be connected to in-game DLC and not Achievements such as the “Day One” one that was available simply through buying an Xbox One console at the start of the current generation of consoles.

Milestone has told Stevivor that “Some trophies and achievements can be unlocked only buying the DLC where they are included. This of course is not automatic, players must accomplish different in-game goals by playing the game to get them.”

It’s unclear if the Achievements/Trophies available through pre-order will be connected to DLC that can be purchased without pre-ordering or not, so we’ve gone back to Milestone for further (further) comment.

Update 2: “DLCs that are connected with pre-orders can be purchased also after launch. They are free for pre-orders, but they can be purchased at any time from all other players who didn’t pre-ordered,” Milestone confirmed after further request for comment.

Original story: Ride 4 will offer up Achievements/Trophies to those who pre-order the game, Milestone today detailed alongside a free current- to next-gen upgrade program on both Xbox and PlayStation.

First, details fo the free upgrade: Available from 21 January 2021, the next-gen version of Ride 4 will be gifted to those who buy its Xbox One or PS4 version before 30 April 2021. All DLC purchased for current-gen will also be accessible at no additional cost on next-gen.

Moreover, Milestone also confirmed pre-order bonuses for the title. Pre-orders of the Standard Edition on PS4 and Xbox One will get a Bonus Pack with 2 iconic bikes, 5 new events “and 1 additional Achievement/Trophy”, Milestone wrote in a press release.

“The Special Edition pre-order Bonus Pack will… contain 4 iconic bikes, 10 new events, 2 additional Achievements/Trophies and 3-days early access before launch,” Milestone continued. “On Steam, the pre-order Bonus will guarantee a 10% discount on the game price, 2 iconic bikes, 5 new events and 1 additional Achievement.”

We’ve asked Milestone to elaborate upon Achievements and Trophies seemingly locked behind pre-order bonus walls.

Ride 4 heads to Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4 on 8 October; an Xbox Series X and PS5 release follows on 21 January 2021.
