Revival of Wipeout series a possibility says Yoshida

“Never say never,” said the boss of Sony’s Worldwide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida, when asked about the possible return of racing series Wipeout.

“There are many IPs that we kind of stopped iterating with new games,” said Yoshida. “One of the reasons is we always love to work on new IP. From my standpoint I try to balance the number of games in a franchise. In the future there might be a chance to come back to a game like Wipeout.”

Yoshida also hinted that the studio responsible for the classic Syphon Filter series, Sony Bend, is working on a new game. Without giving too much away, Yoshida noted the game they were working on was “awesome cool”. Thanks, Yoshida.
