Resident Evil Requiem demo now available (after millions of you have already bought it)

Try before you buy... if you haven't already bought it.

Resident Evil Requiem demo is now available for the people who haven’t already bought it… not that there may be many of you left.

Capcom has confirmed that the demo will allow players to experience the same Care Centre experience that was shown off at trade shows (and used for our preview back on Switch 2), though a second section with Leon will also show how he operates (and how different his sections are from those of Grace).

“Grace’s twenty-minute demo experience looks a lot like the Resident Evil 7 ‘Beginning Hour’ demo, and plays like Resident Evil Village‘s House Beneviento basement,” I wrote back at the time. “The combination of those two set pieces is not only effective, but absolutely terrifying. Armed with nothing but a lighter and a single empty bottle, Grace wakes up in a strange house, stalked by a terrifying creature who likes to bite the heads of corpses. You’re not dead yet, but the monster seems happy to make you an exception.”

Progress from the demo does not carry over into the main game.

The demo may or may not be useful; back in April, Capcom confirmed that it had sold seven million copies of the main game.

Resident Evil Requiem was released back on 27 February 2026 and is available on Windows PC, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS5, and Switch 2. We reviewed it here.
