Resident Evil 4 PS4 release is happening, but not on Xbox One

Current-gen or bust on Xbox.

A Resident Evil 4 PS4 release will be made available to those on last-gen consoles, though sadly the same isn’t true for those on Xbox One.

“We are progressing with development of Resident Evil 4 for PlayStation 5 and latest-gen systems, and we’ve been looking into releasing on previous generation hardware as well,” Producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi said in a video released during Tokyo Game Show. “I’m here today to tell you the game is also in development for PlayStation 4.”

An accompanying press release has confirmed that while a PS4 version is in the works, an Xbox One version is not.

“The reawakened classic was confirmed to be in development for PlayStation 4 in addition to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC,” Capcom wrote.

This means that the Resident Evil 4 remake will be available on Windows PC via Steam, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4 and PS5 from 24 March 2023.
