Rare aware of Sea of Thieves “too early” closed beta issue

Rare is aware of an error preventing Sea of Thieves closed beta players from accessing the event, the developer has advised.

Players across Xbox One and Windows PC are encountering a “You’re too early” message when trying to access the closed beta. Rare has taken to Twitter to say its working on a fix now.

“We’re currently experiencing an incredibly high number of tweets, so we are sorry that we can’t get back to all of you,” the tweet reads. “As for the “too early” Closed Beta issue, please rest assured that we are fully focussed on a resolution. Thanks for your patience!”

The Sea of Thieves closed beta runs through to 29 January, so there’s plenty of time to give it a crack.

Sea of Thieves heads to Windows PC and Xbox One on 20 March as an Xbox Play Anywhere title. It will also be included in the Xbox Game Pass program on the same date, meaning subscribers on both Xbox One and PC will be able to play the game at no additional cost.
