PS5 UI shown off in new video

Sony has released a video that gives us our first real look at the PS5 UI, or user interface.

“Finally – here’s a sneak peek at the PlayStation 5’s user experience! Watch our new video walkthrough to see new features designed to make your gaming experiences more fun, engaging, personalized and social on the PS5 console,” Sony said of the video, adding that, “This walkthrough is set in a pre-production environment, so there may be some minor changes once the PS5 console launches in November.”

There are a lot of neat new features baked into the UI, such as a tooltip that’ll provide an estimate for how long it will take you to complete in-game objectives. Players will also be able to dictate messages to friends and can play videos in an Xbox One-style snap presentation (RIP). Moreover, PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to access tip videos for select games and developers will be able to flag screen captures and recordings as ones with potential spoilers.

What do you make of the new UI? You can see how it’s evolved from that seen on the PS4. It’s pretty sleek and slick, if you ask us.

The PS5 heads to store shelves on 12 November.
