PS4 Pro: Periodically, some titles have slower frame rates than their PS4 counterparts

Digital Foundry has discovered that select PS4 Pro games can, at times, have slower frame rates than their PS4 counterparts.

Titles like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition, The Last of Us Remastered and Mantis Burn Racing currently can suffer from performance issues which result in slow frame rates.

The Last of Us Remastered offers several visual options, including the ability to lock the game at 30 frames per second (fps). Frame rate issues generally occur when running the game 60 frames per second (fps) an in 4K resolution. Moreover, on a 1080p screen, The Last of Us Remastered anti-aliases the game after it’s been rendered at a higher resolution, then downsampled to 1080p, and that’s causing frame rate reduction as well. There’s no way to turn off anti-aliasing on the game using a 1080p television. Skyrim has a problem like The Last of Us’ latter issue.
