Prepare for Xenoblade Chronicles X by downloading data packs from the eShop

Xenoblade Chronicles X fans can prepare for the title’s release this Saturday by heading to the Wii U eShop and downloading up to four data packs which improve loading times.

The packs are already included with the digital version of the title, but for those players purchasing a physical version, it’s recommended to download these packs ahead of time.

The four packs are the Basic High-Speed Data Loading Pack, Enemy High-Speed Data Loading Pack, Player High-Speed Data Loading Pack and Skell High-Speed Data Loading Pack. None of the packs are mandatory, but Nintendo suggests each one based on how players plan to play.

The Basic High Speed pack is recommended for all players and will greatly improve load times, while the Enemy, Player and Skell packs are suggested explore, complete missions and customise Skells respectively. Installing all four packs will provide a boost to performance and so it’s recommended that each one is downloaded.

All up the packs total 10GB and coupled with a day-one update of 2GB it’s wise to get those data packs installed before release. For those with a digital purchase, pre-loading of the title is now available.

Xenoblade Chronicles X will be available for Wii U from 5 December.
