Physical copies of Dying Light delayed in Australia; digital release still on track

Techland’s parkour filled zombie-fest Dying Light is scheduled for a release in Australia 28 January. According to a Facebook post (on the Dying Light page) the release will go ahead on the 28th, albeit in digital format only.

The post on FB reads, “There will be a short delay in the release of physical copies of Dying Light in Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia and Australia. The game will have a global digital release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC of January 27, 2015 [North American date]. As physical production has a longer lead time than digital there is some delay in the aforementioned territories. We will share information on the availability of physical copies as soon as it is confirmed.”

Those wanting to purchase a disc copy will unfortunately have to wait a little longer. The good news though is that the game will still be available on launch day.

Could this be a sneaky trick to see if gamers are willing and ready to move across to digital?

Dying Light will be available (digitally) for PC, PS4 and Xbox One 28 January.
