Outriders Xbox Game Pass day one release confirmed for console, Android

Get ready.

Update: Outriders has been today confirmed as an Xbox Game Pass day one release on both console and Android streaming.

While those with Game Pass on console will be able to obtain and play the game as part of their subscription from 1 April, those on PC will not be able to indulge.

The move is a smart one — we weren’t too keen on the title after playing its demo. Playing for free, though? Well, that makes it a little easier to stomach.

Original story: Rumours of an Outriders Xbox Game Pass day one release are circulating thanks to a tease by Microsoft over the weekend.

Teasing a game “completely unrelated to the other announcements” — those pertaining to an influx of Bethesda titles to Xbox Game Pass late last week — Microsoft’s fictional Melissa McGamePass wrote of a “new game [that] has been confirmed” and asked if “anyone else noticed a mysterious signal appearing in the distance lately or am I the anomaly in the situation?”

While the tease is, of course, vague, Outriders’ fans are focusing on an anomaly in space and believing those clues to mean the title will head to Game Pass upon its general release on 1 April.

“It looks like Outriders could be a day one release on gamepass they have been teasing a new game and an ‘anomaly’,” wrote Jumpy_Piccolo_2726.

“I figured it would have been coming to [Game Pass],” added M4KER2. “Not worth the price tag otherwise in my opinion, which these days on the internet, isn’t worth much.”

We’ll let you know when a confirmation — for or against — this allegation is made.

Outriders heads to Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S & X, PS4, PS5 and Stadia on 1 April. A demo is available now.
