Nintendo Switch games have started to appear in Aussie stores

Nintendo Switch games have started appearing in the wild, two weeks ahead of launch. At least one game has already been sold by an Australian retailer, giving us a look inside the thin case with the reassuring familiarity of massive green Australian classification logo on the front.

Our friends at Vooks published photos of a copy of Super Bomberman R sold by an Australian retailer to a bloke named Mark. He demonstrated the size of the game cart, and confirmed the Australian edition has box art on both the outside and inside of the case, made possible by the transparent plastic. There aren’t any eco-friendly holes cut into the box, as on some Wii U and 3DS games.

Games being sold before a new console isn’t unusual, but we’re surprised to see one sneak out so early. Department stores sold some GameCube games a few days ahead of release, back when keen early adopters could at least read the manual from cover-to-cover hundreds of times in anticipation. Mark will have to make do with reading the back of the box.
