NHL 19 takes you from the pond to the pros in September

NHL 19 was today announced, promising to take players on a journey “from the pond to the pros.”

The game introduces World of CHEL to the mix, combining online modes EASHL, NHL Threes alongside new offerings in the pond hockey NHL Ones system and NHL Pro Am practice mode. The game modes are all tied it all together with new player progression systems that help you earn new gear.

The Nashville Predators’ P.K. Subban is this year’s cover star, while Wayne Gretzky will grace a special edition Legends cover.

While this is all well and good, we’ve been unable to confirm if NHL 19 remains the only EA Sports game to use an older engine in place of Frostbite. We’ve asked EA for comment.

NHL 19 heads to Xbox One and PS4 on 14 September.
