New Witcher deal made between CD Projekt Red, author Sapkowski

A new Witcher deal has been made between CD Projekt Red and author Andrzej Sapkowski, the pair have recently announced.

The new agreement “satisfies and fully clarifies the needs and expectations of both parties,” it was announced. Prior to this, Sapkowski complained he wasn’t getting a big enough cut of CD Projekt Red’s revenue.

As part of the new agreement, CD Projekt Red gets new rights and “confirms the company’s title to The Witcher intellectual property in video games, graphic novels, board games, and merchandise.”

“We’ve always admired Mr. Andrzej Sapkowski’s works — a great inspiration for the team here at CD PROJEKT RED,” said Adam Kiciński, President and Joint CEO of CD Projekt Red. “I believe today marks a new stage in our continued relationship.”

The news comes as Netflix has just released its Witcher television series.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is currently available on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4 and was recently added to the Xbox Game Pass for console program.
