NetherRealm is being (Johnny) cagey about microtransactions in Mortal Kombat X

Speaking with IGN at a recent Mortal Kombat event, NetherRealm’s Marketing Manager Brian Goodman dodged a question about microtransactions in Mortal Kombat X.

When quizzed by IGN about microtransactions in the title Goodman said, “We are not releasing any details on that yet. Nothing to say about microtransactions yet.” It’s not a flat out denial that they will appear the game and the “yet” suggests that we will learn something about them sooner rather than later.

Microtransactions could take many forms in Mortal Kombat X with IGN suggesting a possible return of the Krypt and Koins being purchasable in addition to being earnable through gameplay.

Mortal Kombat X will be available for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One on 15 April.
