Need for Speed Unbound release date set for December

That's not far away!

Need for Speed Unbound was today confirmed by EA alongside a release date of 2 December 2022.

Well, sorta. First, EA Play members get a 10-hour trial of the title from 29 November, the same time that those who purchase Unbound‘s Palace Edition get early access.

In a press release, EA said that it will place “players worldwide in the driver seat of their own street racing fantasy as they outsmart cops and prove they have what it takes to win The Grand, Lakeshore’s ultimate street racing challenge. Need for Speed Unbound features an all-new, unique visual style blending elements of street art with the most realistic looking cars in the franchise’s history,”

We called it anime-inspired, but same different.

“The innovative single player campaign delivers thrills and consequences through an immersive narrative that engages players in the city of Lakeshore as they race, collect, upgrade, and customize the world’s hottest performance cars on their way to the top of the scene,” EA continued.

The leaks that made their way through yesterday were true — rapper A$AP Rocky will appear in-game and certainly does in Unbound‘s reveal trailer. It’s below.

“Need for Speed Unbound is all about self-expression, taking risks and disrupting the status quo by just being you – through your racing style, unique car builds, fashion, music and much more,” said Kieran Crimmins of Criterion Games.

“We are inspired to create a truly authentic universe where players see themselves represented in the game. The visual experience of Unbound redefines expectation, with a new signature art-style that brings graffiti to life, intensifies the competition, and creates adrenaline-inducing, high-speed action,” Crimmins continued.

Expect Need for Speed Unbound on Windows PC via Steam, Origin and the Epic Games Store alongside Xbox Serie S, Xbox Series X and PS5 from 2 December.
