LittleBigPlanet PS Vita launches tomorrow; Sackboy launches “(Near) Space” in October

In celebration of the release of LittleBigPlanet PS Vita this Thursday 20 September, Sackboy in being launched “(Near) Space” thanks to Sony Australia.

“Next month, our beloved hero will turn “hessian-naught”, and embark on his world first journey to near space,” proclaimed Sony.  “Attached to a meteorological balloon and set to launch from Australian soil, Sackboy will journey towards the Earth’s “Sackosphere” where he’ll get a perfect bird’s-eye view of our own little big planet.”

PlayStation fans throughout Australia are invited to play a part in Sackboy’s journey. “With a new digital and social campaign, PlayStation will first invite fans to ‘create’:  the gravity-rush defying astro suit that will be physically made and worn by Sackboy on his epic Aussie voyage,” began Sony. “Fans will then be asked to ‘play’: supported by a range of clues, community players will be offered the opportunity to drop a pin on their estimated landing spot for Sackboy, for an opportunity to win a LittleBigPlanet prize pack.”

The contest is called “Sackboy: Project (Near) Space” and can be accessed via the PlayStation Australia Facebook page. It officially begins in October, so keep an eye out!
