It sure looks like Star Trek Resurgence’s USS Resolute is heading to Star Trek Online

Yes, please.

Star Trek Resurgence‘s hero ship, the USS Resolute, looks to be an upcoming addition to the long-running Star Trek Online MMORPG.

“We’re proud of our hero ship, and the interest fans have shown in the USS Resolute hasn’t gone unnoticed,” Dramatic Labs wrote on Resurgence‘s official Twitter account.

“On that note, notice anything unusual about these shots?”

Eagle-eyed fans pretty much picked up on the difference between Resurgence‘s cinematics and what you could find within Star Trek Online as soon as the post hit the internet. As you can expect, there was an mixture of excitement and caution.

“I need to say something to you guys though. If it is coming to the game. Demand Cryptic doesn’t put it into a lockbox or promo ship,” wrote Starship_Eternity. “If they do most players won’t be able to play with it and box ships still make them… on edge when they come out. Just wanted to give some warning.”

The Twitter user is perhaps thinking of questionable, lootbox-like practices employed for some of Star Trek‘s newest hero ships, including Star Trek Picard‘s Enterprise-G and Star Trek Prodigy‘s Protostar.

We’ll keep you informed as we learn more. Resurgence‘s Centaur-class starship adds a more traditional deflector dish (the blue, glowing circle seen on the centre of the ship in the image above) rather than a Miranda-class dohickey as seen on the Centaur’s base model. We’d expect the Resolute’s appearance to become available as a skin for the Centaur-class rather than a separate ship of its own.

Star Trek Online is currently available on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4.

Star Trek Resurgence is available now on Windows PC via the Epic Games Store, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4 and PS5. We reviewed the title here and went in for an in-depth interview with Dramatic Labs about it here.
