Halo Infinite Winter Contingency event on now

This time, rewards won't get in the way of your Battle Pass.

The Halo Infinite Winter Contingency event is on now and thankfully fixes progression issues that plagued the title’s previous event, Fracture Tenrai.

This time around, Winter Contingency drops and challenges will be baked into progression and will not be running in parallel to Battle Pass progression.

As an example, I’ve played only one match this morning and managed to unlock the event’s first reward while at the same time working toward cumulative Battle Pass challenges. Subsequent unlocks appear to be daily; play to redeem.

The new functionality reflects changes promised by 343 with the Tenrai event, which itself returns in January 2022.

Rewards for Winter Contingency include festive themed colours, emblems, armour pieces and more.

The event runs for 13 days, between 23 December 2021 and 4 January 2022 here in Australia.

Halo Infinite is now live on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X.
