Halo Infinite multiplayer to add Fiesta, SWAT, FFA in 2021

Yes, please.

Halo Infinite multiplayer will be bolstered by three new modes — Fiesta, Tactical Slayer (SWAT) and Free-For-All (FFA) — before the end of the year, 343 Industries has proclaimed.

“We’ve been reading your feedback, and we’re working on plans to add Fiesta, Tactical Slayer (SWAT), and Free-For-All playlists as we speak,” wrote 343’s John Junyszek.

Junyszek was careful to mention that the three new multiplayer modes will not arrive in time for Infinite‘s single-player campaign launch next week, but will be available before the end of this month (and therefore, the end of this year).

“They won’t land by Dec 8, but the team is pushing to get them in before the end of year,” Junyszek stated.

Junyszek also confirmed that limited-time events like last week’s Fracture Tenrai would be used to try out new modes before they’re officially added to Infinite‘s playlists. Tenrai saw the introduction of Fiesta, a mode that quickly became a fan favourite.

Finally, Junyszek stated that 343 is hard at work adding a Social Slayer playlist.

“A Social Slayer playlist (with multiple variations) is also in the works (we see this request the most), but we won’t be able to get that one ready until after the holidays,” he said. “We hope you can understand and enjoy the ones that make it in before the team takes a well-deserved break!”

Halo Infinite multiplayer is now live on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X. Single-player heads to the title on 8 December. Check out our Halo Infinite review in progress right here.
