Halo Infinite couch co-op cancelled, Season 3 delayed to 2023

Halo Infinite couch co-op has been cancelled entirely, with developer 343 Industries also confirming that Season 3 won’t kick off until next year.

“In order to improve and accelerate ongoing live service development, and to better address player feedback and quality of life updates, we have reallocated studio resources and are no longer working on local campaign split-screen co-op,” 343 said in a statement.

Taking to a developer video, below, 343’s Joseph Staten added that “we have had to make the difficult decision not to ship campaign split-screen co-op.”

Originally planned for a November launch, Season 3 will not kick off until March of next year.

Adding more bad news to the pot, Infinite‘s Forge beta has also been delayed until 8 November and will be released alongside online co-op and mission replay.

Halo Infinite is currently available on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X; it’s also part of Xbox and PC Game Pass.
