Amazon’s Top Gear reboot by another name, The Grand Tour, is getting an episodic game — but it’s not a mobile game, it’s coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One from Amazon Game Studios.
It will launch when season 3 of The Grand Tour hits Amazon Prime next year, and like the TV series, a new episode of the game will be released each week.
Based on May and Hammond’s comments, those game episodes will be based on what happens in the corresponding TV instalment as a “watch us do it, then do it yourself” format.
It’s clearly a cash-in, and two of the three presenters roped into marketing it treat it as just that. Watch them for yourself below.
The third presenter was happy to craft a quote for the press release, presumably whilst also on holiday.
“It’s a video game featuring me, the crashy one, and the slow one. That’s all you need to know,” texted in Jeremy Clarkson.
Meanwhile, Sony is now furious it no longer owns the most popular “GT” racing game.
