Ghostwire Tokyo delayed into 2022

Tango Gameworks needs more time.

Ghostwire Tokyo has been delayed into 2022, developer Tango Gameworks has recently confirmed.

The studio took to Twitter to state that it needed more time to deliver a quality product.

“We want to get the game in your hands as soon as possible so you can experience the unforgettable version of a haunted Tokyo that we’ve been hard at work building,” the tweet said. “At the same time, we’re also focused on protecting the health of everyone at Tango. Our new release window will give us time to bring the world of Ghostwire to life as we’ve always envisioned it.

“Thank you for being patient as we work to bring you an experience unlike anything else we’ve ever made. We can’t wait to show you more in the coming months.”

The delay likely means that Ghostwire Tokyo will not be available on Xbox platforms until 2023, based on the assumption it is a one-year PlayStation exclusive like Arkane’s Deathloop.

Expect Ghostwire Tokyo on Windows PC and PS5 from early 2022.
