Fortnite account merge feature delayed to 2019

Fortnite’s account merge feature has been delayed until “early next year,” Epic Games has confirmed.

The feature, planned for November 2018, will help those on PS4 who were forced to register a second Fortnite account due to cross-platform restrictions. Now that Sony has backed down on its stance, the feature will allow Fortnite players to use a single account once again.

“Due to some ongoing technical concerns, we will be delaying the Account Merge feature until early next year. We want to make sure that this process is thoroughly tested and working properly before releasing it to those of you currently looking to transfer purchases from other accounts to your primary account,” Epic advised.

When live, the merge system will let players “combine multiple console-linked accounts to transfer Battle Royale cosmetic item purchases, lifetime wins, V-Bucks, and Save the World campaign access.”

Fortnite is available now on Windows PC, Xbox One, PS4, Switch, iOS and Android devices.
