Sydney’s Microsoft Store has a Fortnite tourney on this weekend

A special Fortnite tournament will take place this coming weekend at the Sydney Microsoft Store Sydney, Microsoft today announced.

“Gamers can battle it out in their squad against each other, show off their flossing skills in a dance off, snap the perfect photo with cosplayer Airheart and have the chance to win some amazing prizes with giveaways throughout the day,” Microsoft said of the 8 June event, to be held at Sydney Microsoft Store in Pitt Street Mall.

Those interested can register here, though Microsoft has said registration doesn’t guarantee a spot in one-hour heats to be held on the day. Rather, “signups are taken in person on the day of the event and open 1 hour prior to each heat start time.”

The day’s schedule is as follows:

  • 10.00 – 11.00 am AEST: Solos
  • 11.00 am – 12.00 pm AEST: Solos
  • 12.00 – 1.00 pm AEST: Duos
  • 2.00 – 3.00 pm AEST: Duos
  • 3.00 – 4:30 pm AEST: Squads

Microsoft has also advised that those in attendance will get “a glimpse at a brand new Fortnite surprise, coming soon to Microsoft Store.” Could this be the very purple Fornite Xbox One bundle rumoured to soon be available?

Good luck to those competing.

Fortnite is available now on Windows PC, Xbox One, PS4, Switch, iOS and Android devices.
