LoL OPL round 6 to promote national youth mental health

League of Legends OPL round 6 is officially the “headspace round”, promoting national youth mental health and well-being, Riot Games Oceania and headspace today announced.

For those unaware, headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundation in Australia, “dedicated to improving the mental health and wellbeing of young Australians aged 12-25, as well as providing support to their families and friends,” according to a recent press release.

The collaboration between headspace and Riot Games is to “raise awareness of the tips and advice available on how to maintain a healthy mind, as well as letting young people know there is help available in-person, online or by phone through headspace,” the release continued.

LoL OPL round six begins at 5.00 pm AEDT on 23 February and runs until 25 February. Those needing headspace’s support can visit one of the organisations 101 centres across Australia or using its online and phone support service, eheadspace.

“With the OPL we have an opportunity to provide our players and viewers with information from headspace that can make a real difference to their lives, and those closest to them,” Riot Head of Esports, Daniel Ringland, said of the initiative.

“The OPL broadcast is a great avenue for headspace to share advice and resources that can support young players and esports fans across Australia.”

Hats off to a great cause.
