E3 doesn’t look to be coming back for 2024 or 2025

The ESA says it's "having conversations".

E3 doesn’t look to be returning for 2024 or 2025, with convention owner Entertainment Software Association (ESA) seemingly cancelling its bookings for those years at the Los Angeles Convention Centre.

Users on Resetera noticed the ESA’s cancellations; the organisation had originally booked the venue for periods beginning 11 June 2024 and 3 June 2025.

More recently, a report from the Los Angeles City Tourism Department confirmed the bookings had been cancelled.

Speaking with Eurogamer, the ESA didn’t officially confirm it had cancelled its bookings, saying it was “currently having conversations about E3 2024 (and beyond), and no final decisions about the event have been made at this time”.

The ESA partnered with convention producer ReedPop to put on E3 2023, but plans fell flat. The cancellation of E3 2023 came after myriad publishers including Nintendo, Ubisoft, Sega and Tencent pulled out of the event and numerous other publishers were rumored to follow suit.

We’ll keep you informed of the state of E3 as more becomes known.
