The Division 2 patched to remove homophobic graffiti

The Division 2 has been patched to remove offensive, homophobic graffiti.

The graffiti in question shows an obese police officer eating a donut. More concerning is the officer’s badge number, “FA6607”. While it is possible the graffiti itself is meant as an homage to a Black Flag album cover for “Police Story”, in which a police office is held at gunpoint with a speech bubble nearby reading, “promoting the “Police Story” single. The speech blurb reads “Make me come, faggot!”, it’s still an unacceptable reference.

You can get a better look at the graffiti below.

“It’s been brought to our attention that a piece of street art in Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 contained offensive content. We removed the image from the game via a patch on Thursday, April 11,” Ubisoft told PC Gamer. “We apologize that this image slipped through our content review processes, and we are currently reviewing them in order to avoid this kind of oversight from occurring in the future.”

The Division 2 is currently available on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4. Previously, we’ve covered a large, in-game pride flag that celebrates LGBTIQ culture.
