Far Cry 6 has a very aggressive dominoes player

And a feel-good band back at camp.

Far Cry 6 will offer up a number of new options including one NPC that we’re calling “aggressive dominoes player” from now until the end of time.

As part of our hands-on preview, we checked out a guerrilla camp and indulged in a game of dominoes (especially since the post-launch Far Cry villains DLC isn’t ready) and noticed the player immediately.

While two of three of our dominoes opponents were very jovial, the third was clearly very competitive. He slammed down each tile with vigor, quite startling so.

We couldn’t pass up a chance to talk about the player with World Director Benjamin Hall.

“It’s just the way it is,” Hall said with a bit of a chuckle.

“Something that we saw when we looked into how people play dominoes is that there’s some people that like to play calmly and place that piece down with gentle love,” he continued, “and some people that like to slam it down ’cause that’s the best way that you’re going to win. So we tried to capture that with dominoes.”

From the GIF we’ve embedded above (part of a larger video from the guerrilla camp, below) you can also see that Dani’s pretty aggressive herself.

It’s not all tension and concentration — we also passed a small band inside the same camp and were presented with the chance to donate pesos to them as they played.

“It’s a feel-good thing to do,” Hall said of the act. “You’re going out there and you’re finding pesos and you’re picking them up and you get back — you can’t help but do a little shimmy when you hear that kind of music.

“It was a really cool idea to be able to give something back to the people that are playing and entertaining the rest of the guerrillas.”

Far Cry 6 heads to Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4, PS5 and Stadia on 7 October. For more with Ben Hall, head here.
