Destiny: Age of Triumph: Loot boxes, new quests and Nightfall activities detailed

Destiny‘s Age of Triumph event will bring back the chance to grab past loot and revitalises the Nightfall activity, Bungie detailed in an early morning livestream.

April’s month-long event will provide players with up to three Treasure of Ages loot boxes. Obtained through Strikes, the Crucible and featured playlists, the boxes provide access to previously offered treasure. Basically, anything offered for a fee at Eververse may be obtained for free via a loot box. Confirmed items include Emblems of Ages, Days of Iron emblems, Orange Chroma, Legendary Emotes of Ages and ornaments for various weapons. New items will be confirmed in a livestream set for next week.

Moreover, Bungie confirmed that the Speaker (remember him?) will offer up new quests for players, focusing on story missions, Patrols, Strikes and the Crucible. The nature of the quests were not detailed, but we’re thinking it’ll be along the lines of a “best of” playlist.

Nightfall activities are going back to the glory days, with flaming blue helmets on offer to those that complete Bungie’s weekly challenge. The Daybreak modifier will be added to events — for fun, according to Bungie’s David ‘DeeJ’ Dague — once every four weeks. Daybreak will also be turned on for the entirity of 18 July to mid-August.

Destiny‘s Age of Triumph event requires the “Rise of Iron” expansion and will feature on Xbox One and PS4 in April.
