Destiny 2 Lightfall detailed by Bungie

Legendary mode returns!

Destiny 2 Lightfall was today detailed by Bungie at Gamescom 2022.

The news comes as the title’s latest season — Season of Plunder — launches; the King’s Fall Reprised Raid follows later this week.

“Shattered glass glints in the starlight. Soldiers of the Shadow Legion battle with Guardians under the unmistakable shadows of the fleet overhead—the Witness and its newest disciple are here,” Bungie said, detailing the expansion via a new trailer (below).

“Find strength in the Light, arm yourself with Darkness, and peer beyond the veil as you raise the stakes on an already unforgettable campaign. Legendary Mode returns. Travel to a destination unlike any you’ve explored in Destiny 2. Cross paths with bone-chilling Tormentors and valiant Cloud Striders, join the fight against the Shadow Legion, and prevent devastation in the technologically advanced secret city of Neomuna.”

As rumoured, players will also be able to take control of an entirely new subclass and powers called Strand. The Warlock will tap into Architect; the Hunter, Threadrunner; finally, the Titan will offer up Tyrant.

We can expect Destiny 2 Lightfall from February 23, 2023 on all available platforms. Pre-orders for this, Bungie’s pentultimate update, are open now.
