Dead by Daylight Sadako Rising adds The Ring on 8 March

Yes please.

Dead by Daylight Sadako Rising will be released on 8 March and brings with it characters from Ringu, otherwise known as The Ring in western circles.

Pun intended.

Sadako Rising‘s titular Sadako will serve as a new killer, while Yoichi Asakawa will be added to the mix as a new survivor. You can check out both characters in action thanks to a new trailer, below.

“Ringu introduces psychological horror to our game, which is very different from the slasher style our fans are used to. They can expect Sadako to come with creepy and surprising gameplay mechanics that are not found in other Killers,” said Behaviour’s Dave Richard. “Survivors beware, she will freak you out!”

“I am very honored that this very iconic horror character from Japan will step into the Fog. Sadako, with her long black hair and white dress, is a tragic woman, beautiful and dignified, yet she pulls you into her quiet terror,” added Reiko Imayasu, a member of Ringu IP holder Kadokawa Corporation.

“The Dead by Daylight team did a great job in representing her characteristics in the game. I am convinced that it will be a chapter unlike any other,” Imayasu continued. “In addition to the new Killer Sadako, there are many other items that evoke the world of Ringu. I hope that players will be thrilled to see how they fit into the game, whilst they tremble at the sight of them.”

Both Sadako and Yoichi Asakawa are available to try out on Dead by Daylight‘s PC public test server (PTS) ahead of the full release.

Dead by Daylight is currently available on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4, PS5 and Switch. We named it our Best Ongoing GOTY of 2021.
