Crackdown 3 multiplayer doesn’t support Xbox Parties at launch

Update: Crackdown 3 developers have already changed their tune after backlash from players over a lack of support for Xbox Parties in multiplayer. Support will be added in, post-launch.

“Agents, we know you’re eager to play [Wrecking Zone] with friends and we’ll be adding Xbox Live party functionality in an upcoming title update along with other post-launch content,” a tweet from the game’s official account reads. “Thank you for your patience and please stay tuned here for more info soon!”

Original story: Crackdown 3 multiplayer will not support pre-made Xbox Parties, its developers have confirmed.

Wrecking Zone, Crackdown 3’s primary multiplayer mode will not allow friends to join each other in an Xbox Party and then jump into a game. The lack of support was first noticed in the game’s recent stress test, and unfortunately has been confirmed to carry over into the main game.

“Wrecking Zone does not support parties and will not a launch,” a Crackdown 3 representative confirmed in the game’s official Discord server.

“Parties are not supported in Wrecking Zone,” another post added. “I don’t have any info on if/when they might be implemented.”

As you might expect, players on Reddit are not happy about the limitation.

“I think it’s kind of weird that a basic feature like multiplayer friend parties isn’t shipping at launch,” SpookyCarnage wrote.

Crackdown 3 heads to Windows PC and Xbox One from 15 February. It’s part of the Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Play Anywhere programs.
