CoD Modern Warfare 2 crossplay can’t be disabled on PC, Xbox

Though Infinity Ward has just rolled out a patch for issues with parties.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 crossplay cannot be disabled on PC or Xbox consoles, though the functionality does exist on PS4 and PS5 versions of the shooter.

As spotted by Eurogamer, non-PS menus are devoid of options to disable cross-play.

All is not lost, however — Xbox players can use Xbox menus, not CoD menus, to limit those they play with against. Or in other words, can turn off CoD with players using keyboard and mouse setups.

This revelation has come at the same time developer Infinity Ward advised it’s rolling out a patch addressing party issues. Hopefully another comes soon with crossplay options beyond PlayStation.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is available on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4 and PS5. Warzone 2.0 will follow.
