And players on Xbox are still mad they didn't get new ports...
A new port of Call of Duty Black Ops on PS4 and PS5 is being exploited for easy XP gains, with players calling the new version of the game “unplayable” as a result.
In Black Ops 1, players could exploit XP gains by hosting lobbies, blowing themselves up with a grenade upon spawn, and then exiting the game to hit maximum rank. The resulting gameplay means that players are joining lobbies only to see entire matches clear out almost instantly.
“So [Black Ops 1] is now infected with the XP thing where you max level by nading yourself then leaving,” a player said on Twitter. “It’s leading to unplayable lobbies.”
“[Black Ops 1 Ground War] is literally ruined with this XP glitch,” added another. “Cannot play a lobby without 6 people leaving, rejoining, and killing themselves over and over again. What a joke.”
Treyarch has responded for the moment by disabling “select playlists” within the title. It also confirmed that “PS4 and PS5 players are able to matchmake with one another. There is no cross-platform play with PS3 or other hardware platforms.”
As we reported last month, Xbox players are angry with these new Black Ops ports, saying that “[t]he games are compromised on both Xbox and PC to the point hackers can run remote code on our computers making them unsafe for online play” — from this, it looks like these new ports aren’t much safer.
