A select number of Xbox Insiders can now gift games to friends on Windows 10 PC and Xbox One.
As detailed back in July, the functionality will be tested with this select group, then rolled out to the masses when confirmed as stable.
Microsoft has yet to confirm game gifting, though Windows Central today reports that those with Insider firmware 1710 can take advantage of the feature. In their testing, a user can gift a Windows 10 PC or Xbox One game to a friend; that friend will receive an email with said game. The email contains a 25-digit code which will then need to be redeemed by the recipient.
What do you think of Microsoft’s method? Would you rather have the code automatically redeemed? Is there a chance this code-generating system will be used in ways Microsoft hasn’t intended? Sound off in the comments area, below.
We’ll let you know when gift giving on Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs is accessible by all.
