Those who purchase Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare or Modern Warfare Remastered on Windows PC via the Windows Store will not be able to participate in multiplayer play with those who play via Steam.
Activision Blizzard’s support page states that “you can only play these titles with other users of Windows 10 on Windows Store.”
Speaking with Windows Central, Microsoft has placed the blame wholly on publisher Activision Blizzard.
“We support cross-play between devices and platforms for partners who want to enable it,” a Microsoft representative said.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is available now on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4.
