BioWare is taking concerns over Mass Effect: Andromeda‘s gay romances “very seriously”, according to its Lead Designer.
“This is definitely not going in the trash,” BioWare’s Ian S. Frazier said on Twitter over a lack of depth in gay romances, specifically male-on-male ones.
“We take the concerns very, very seriously.”
Absolutely. This is definitely not going in the trash–we take the concerns very, very seriously.

Fans are concerned that gay romances pale in comparison to straight ones; a male, gay-identifying player doesn’t even have the opportunity to romance a squadmate.
This assertion comes as BioWare prepares for Andromeda‘s first special multiplayer event. Called “Drack’s Missing Scouts”, Pathfinders will need to team up to emerge victorious on a new map, “Firebase Paradox”, between 23-27 March.
Mass Effect: Andromeda is available now on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4.
