As Dusk Falls PlayStation release coming March 2024

Don't want to play on Xbox? You'll soon have options.

An As Dusk Falls PlayStation release is scheduled for 7 March 2024, developer INTERIOR/NIGHT today revealed at The Game Awards 2023.

Ben reviewed the title back on Xbox in 2022, saying, “the story starts slowly, but it offers just enough to hook you on its potential and desire to find out more. It has the pacing of a TV series, and is influenced by some big hitters, but doesn’t have their writing prowess, cliff hangers or character development. However, it gives you what they can’t: meaningful choice.

“It might not win any awards as a gritty crime drama, but by bringing you into the fold to make key decisions and decide which characters you want to succeed, it’s almost as engaging – especially if you commit to doing it as a household,” Ben added.

I previewed the the title a little bit before that, calling it “Jackbox meets Heavy Rain“.

“At its core, As Dusk Falls is a standard visual novel, following in the likes of Telltale’s The Walking Dead, Quantic Dream’s Heavy Rain or Detroit Become Human or even Supermassive’s recent release, The Quarry,” I wrote.

“Where it differs is that it’s a visual novel proper; you’re never tasked to control a character and move around an environment to reach new areas and find clues. Instead, you simply make decisions — sometimes in the form of dialogue options and other times simply tasked to move a cursor around a static screen in order to uncover clues or move the plot forward.”

Alongside the PlayStation release on 7 March is new PC availability through the Epic Games Store and GoG.

As Dusk Falls heads to Windows PC via Epic Games Store and GOG alongside PS4 and PS5 on 7 March 2024. It’s already available on Windows PC, Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X, and also through Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass.
